TREASURE HOUSE is home to beautiful children sadly orphaned through tragic circumstances such as desertion, neglect, abuse, and poverty.

REGISTERED CHARITY

Treasure House is a registered and recognised Charity. There is a board of trustees and a working committee.

The Fiji Social Welfare Ministry is the legal custodian of the children and so works closely with all institutions like Treasure House.

THE CHILDREN

There are now 21 children and 20 staff. 4 of our children have Special Needs. The staff give 24 hour care.

The children come to us from newborn age up to age 16. The children leave for other homes at 17 years old.

HISTORY

The home was originally established in Ba, about two towns away in the year 2000. It was relocated to Nadi in the year 2007.

It is now located in Saunaka on Queens Road about 4 blocks away on the opposite side of McDonald's restaurant in Nadi.

EDUCATION

The children start school at age 5 in Kindergarten. They attend normal schools nearby. Some children attend Primary School, High School, Tertiary School and some children attend Special Needs school.

Some children are in need of additional literacy support as they have missed basic reading and writing skills.

HOUSING

Currently the children live in a 5 bedroom home. It is temporary. A new house will be built on land about 5 km from the Nadi international airport.

FUNDING

The govt pays $120 FJD per month, per child. Other donors are local trusts, foundations, corporate companies, businesses, individuals locally and overseas.

Many donors locally and overseas donate cash and in kind which have helped greatly towards the children's welfare.

MEDICAL

A local practitioner, Dr. Ram Raju looks after all the medical needs of the children for free.

Medicine however is a great need in the home.

SPECIAL NEEDS
